All roll stands are NOT created equal. The Rafter driven roll stand incorporates many small, seemingly inconsequential features that greatly improve the usability and serviceability of the machine. We can offer standard designs from 1” to 8” shaft.

Our unique single-point adjustment (SPA) for the top roll shaft has quickly become a standard feature on all new mills. It also can easily be retrofitted to your existing mill – whether it’s a Rafter machine or not.

The Rafter SPA design can be further enhanced with the additional of power adjustment. This can be a simple open-loop, operator controlled feature or a full-blown, closed-loop, recipe-type setup system. We’ve done them both!

For reshaping operations, we also offer centerline idlers or side closers that mount within the driven roll stand housing. These are especially useful on mills producing heavy-walled squares and rectangles that require sharp corners.
