The turkshead straightener is used to straighten the tube after is leaves the final sizing pass. On mills that make squares and rectangles, it can also be used to finish the reshaping process. The turkshead straightener likely gets its name from the similarity in appearance to the decorative four-strand knot of the same name.

Rafter turksheads are sized to compliment the size and performance of our driven and idle roll stands. In other words, they are oversized. Standard designs includes quick-change roll clevises and roll pins. Larger units include gear reduction to assist with the squeeze adjustments.

Optional powered adjust feature allows straightness adjustments from a remote location (e.g., runout station).
